1948 Bentley MK VI Standard Steel Saloon
Prior to disassembly we drove this car about 500 miles. It runs great and quite a lot of mechanical work had been carried out by the previous owner. The body restoration is well-along with the entire body shell rebuilt and in prime. It suffered from the infamous tin-worm, so the rear wings have been rebuilt, new rockers installed and new metal let in around door sills and boot area. We purchased a parts car for its good doors and bootlid and found a very good set of front wings in South Carolina. The original interior was quite good and with some minor repair will go back in. The price of this car will depend on where we are in its restoration.
1940 Lloyd Rockey Special
Here is a great old sprint car with known history since 1940. It probably was originally built before that, to Kuns K-8 plans and likely ran a 4-cylinder Ford engine. In 1940. Lloyd Rockey of Muskegon MI, with his brother Glenn, rebuilt the car with a V-8 engine and hydraulic brakes. They ran at Whiskey Ridge Speedway in western Michigan for the next dozen years and reportedly won several track Championships. It may also have run at other Midwest tracks, but no records have yet surfaced. We have been using it, with great pleasure, for several years. It is presently prepared to VSCCA and AOT regulations. The frame is Essex; ’32 Ford front axle; Model A rear; 38 Ford transmission coupled to a 239 cid V-8, bored .030. The engine is fairly stock with two 94 carbs on an Edelbrock super dual intake, headers, stock distributor, truck water pumps. It weighs about 1500lbs. Wheels are 17” on front and 18” on the back with Dunlop racing rubber. This car has always raced as No. 13. $35,000
